Small world

Last year I was talking to the motor mechanic at work about what exactly DigitalMemoriesonline actually does. John (I will refer to him as John, mainly because that is his real name) is, by some strange quirk of fate, distantly related to me. That in itself is unusual as my known living family is rather small. Three to be precise. Plus my Great Great Husband-in law John. I'm not sure what the exact relationship is but that will do for now.

I happened to mention to John that I had accquired a photograph of my grandfather taken when he received a long service medal from his employer. Nowadays it is difficult to achieve 50 years service with any employer, let alone the same one. Back then it was a reasonably common occurrence. Anyway, John seemed very interested to see this photograph and so I took it in to show him.

"I'd love to know where the medal went," I said as I showed the photograph. "Oh," replied John, "I've got that at home. I always wondered what the photo looked like."

So we now have a stand-off. I'm sure not parting with my photo. And he certainly won't part with the medal. At least we know both will be well looked after. And neither will be leaving the family. And who knows - someday I may manage to reunite them.

Anyone know a good burglar?

Until next time ...

'Fingers' Gray to the rescue!

Bit of a silly question, really - all the bad burglars have been locked up.
